Evonik has inaugurated the expansion of its specialty amine production facility in Nanjing, China. According to the company, this investment significantly strengthens the Evonik’s capability to supply amine‑based additives for polyurethane and epoxy applications, supporting future market development and advancing the company’s long‑term global strategy.

“This inauguration marks more than the launch of new production capacity. It underlines Evonik’s long-term commitment to China. By strengthening local production, sustainability, and innovation, we are building a resilient platform for future growth together with our partners,” said Christian Kullmann, chairman of Evonik Executive Board, at the inauguration ceremony.

Specialty amines are key additives in the production of polyurethane foams used in automotive, construction, furnishings, and consumer goods, and they also play a key role as curing agents in epoxy systems for various applications like protective coatings and adhesives.

With upgraded production capabilities, the Nanjing plant is now equipped for commercial‑scale manufacturing of advanced reactive specialty amines tailored for high‑performance polyurethane and epoxy applications facing increasingly stringent emission standards.
