Industrial Paint Remover

Cortec® has introduced EcoLine® Surface Reveal, an industrial paint remover formulated with 77% USDA‑certified biobased content and biodegradable ingredients. The updated product contains no methylene chloride or NMP (N‑methylpyrrolidone) and can be applied by dipping, brushing, or rolling. Cortec says it is designed to work quickly, removing acrylic and alkyd coatings within roughly 15–30 minutes, depending on conditions. Low-Temperature Cure Powder Coating

WEG has launched a new powder coating with low-temperature curing technology, developed for use in industrial applications with heat-sensitive materials such as plastics, composites, and other special substrates. Wet Grinding Bead Mill

Bühler has introduced the Cenomic Horizon 3, a bead mill intended for wet grinding applications. According to Bühler, the bead mill offers improved temperature control, reduced wear, and greater operational flexibility. The bead mill has an active chamber volume of 20 liters and a drive power of 30 kilowatts and is suitable for a variety of formulations, including coatings, paints, gravure and flexographic printing inks, digital inks, pigment concentrates, and agrochemicals.

One-Coat Powder Coating

PPG has launched PPG ENVIROCRON® Extreme Protection Edge Plus, a patent-pending, powder coating. According to PPG, the one-coat system is formulated to provide a smoother, more uniform finish, protecting against corrosion on hard-to-coat sharp edges, angles, and recesses. The coating is engineered to minimize powder retraction and shrinkage during curing, providing more complete coverage without the need for mechanical edge rounding or blasting. End-use applications include louvers, blades, and other laser-cut parts.

Weathering Testing

Atlas has introduced the next-generation Ci3000 Weather-Ometer®. Building on the Ci3000+ platform, this latest model offers expanded capabilities,Ìýenhanced safety, andÌýsmart design upgrades. Silicone-Based Surface Additives

BYK announced additions to its line of radiation-curable systems. BYK-UV 3590 and BYK-UV 3595 are crosslinking, silicone-containing surface additives for radiation-curing printing inks and overprint varnishes. BYK says that the additives are 100% active substances with strictly di-functional structures, formulated to improve tape release, increase surface slip, and create structural effects. The company adds that these additives are colorless, odorless, and nearly transparent.

UV-Curing Systems

Excelitas® has added two new technologies to its portfolio of UV curing systems. The company says OmniCure® AC9225-F UV LED Curing System, designed specifically for fiber curing applications, features an optical design intended to enhance output and optimize delivery of UV onto the fiber. OmniCure® AC9300P LED Large-Area Curing System is designed to deliver over 14 W/cm2 peak irradiance and is intended for cable marking and ribboning. According to Excelitas, the air-cooled system offers enhanced optics for fast uniform curing at short working distances.

Coatings for EV Batteries

Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. has unveiled two new products intended to provide extreme heat protection and better electrical insulation for EV battery applications. According to the company, Alesta®Ìýe-PRO FG Black powder coating is engineered for thermal stability and secondary fire protection. The coating is designed to resist ignition, expansion, and smoke generation at temperatures up to 1200°C. AlestaÌýe-PRO Dielectric Gray is an epoxy-based powder coating designed to provide electrical insulation in high-voltage environments such as electric vehicle battery packs and stationary energy storage systems.

Automated Mixing Technology

MIPA has introduced two automated mixing machines intended to simplify and accelerate the paint mixing process.ÌýThe fully automatic Mipa Abtönautomat CR 6 uses volumetric dosing technology to support precise mixing at volumes as low as 0.0077 ml. Operating independently of a scale, the company says it is designed to save time during dosing. The Mipa SunraceÌýoffers a semi-automatic alternative for precise color mixing using the Mipa WBC mixing system. According to Mipa, after the desired color formula is selected in the software, the corresponding toners are highlighted with light signals, removed manually, and placed onto the conveyor. Additionally, the machine then uses an integrated scale for precise dosing.

Solvent-Free Tank Lining

Hempel has launched Hempaline Defend 430, a solvent-free tank lining created for use in the energy sector. According to Hempel, the epoxy phenolic lining is designed to enable rapid return to service with single-coat application, lower energy use during installation, and support more sustainable operations by reducing VOC emissions and workplace hazards. The company says that extended inspection intervals enable asset owners to keep tanks in service longer while lowering lifecycle costs.

Sustainable Nylon 6

BASF has expanded its sustainable nylon 6 offerings in North America with two new grades: Ultramid® LowPCF and Ultramid BMB. BASF notes that both materials incorporate renewable natural gas derived from organic waste through a mass balance approach. According to BASF, this results in a reduced cradle-to-gate carbon footprint compared to conventional grades, with Ultramid LowPCF achieving a 30% decrease, and Ultramid BMB delivering an approximately 50% reduction. These products are suitable for applications such as wire and cable, carpet and textile fiber, packaging, and other consumer and industrial uses.

Digital Print Primer

Michelman is expanding its DigiPrime® Vision series with a digital print primer designed to support pressure-sensitive label applications on HP Indigo 6K and 8K digital presses. According to the company, the water-based, PFAS-free in-line primer is engineered to offer operational flexibility and simplified maintenance. Benjamin Moore has launched Eco Spec® paints for both commercial and residential applications. According to the company, the line is engineered to meet the strictest requirements for VOCs, emissions, applications, washability, and scrubbability. The product, intended to feature low odor that dissipates within an hour after application, is formulated with antimicrobial additives, preventing the buildup of mold and mildew on dry paint film. Fire Protection Coating

PPG has launched STEELGUARD 951® epoxy fire protection coating in North and Latin America. The durable, epoxy intumescent coating, already introduced in Europe and the Middle East, is intended to provide fire protection for facilities such as semiconductor plants, EV battery facilities, data centers, and other commercial infrastructure. According to PPG, the coating provides up to four hours of fire protection by expanding from a thin, lightweight film to a thick, insulating foam under high temperatures, helping to maintain building integrity, facilitate evacuations, and limit fire damage.

Guardair Corporation has introduced PowerQUAD™, the latest addition to its line of industrial pneumatic vacuums. Ultra-Low Reflectance Black Pigment

Ishihara Sangyo Kaisa, Ltd. has launched LUSHADE® BLACK, an ultra-low reflectance structural black pigment. The surface structure of the bismuth sulfide pigment resembles sea urchin spines, enabling the pigment to absorb more than 99.0% of visible light and resulting in an ultra-black pigment with extremely low reflectance. When used in coatings, it also helps suppress surface temperature rise. The pigment is designed for use for optical lens edges; low-reflectance coatings inside camera modules; infrared-reflective black coatings; infrared-based devices, such as LiDAR, and for reducing surface temperature rise.

Energy-Curable Coatings for Metal

PPG has unveiled its DURANEXTâ„¢ UV/EB portfolio of energy-curable coatings for coiled metal. The family of products includes electron-beam and ultraviolet curable backers, primers, basecoats, and clearcoats. According to PPG, DuraNEXT products feature lower energy usage, water consumption, and CO2 emissions, compared to traditional thermal cure coatings, and does not require the use of very high temperatures to drive the curing process. The liquid coating is designed to be converted into a fully cured solid finish in seconds, without any significant loss of thickness or weight, the company says.

Elementis recently rolled out DAPRO® BIO 9910, a defoamer with 96% biobased carbon content, and C14 verified, specifically designed for water-based coatings. Based on a vegetable oil/wax composition, it is intended to be a sustainable alternative to mineral oil/ petroleum-based defoamers, formulated for use in architectural, industrial, and wood coatings. Silicone Hull Coating for Newbuilds

Hempel has launched Hempaguard NB, a silicone hull coating intended specifically for new-build vessels. Hempel states that Hempaguard NB is designed to withstand exposure to the atmospheric conditions of construction, unlike conventional silicone products that require controlled environments. Polyphthalamide for High-voltage Connectors

BASF has added Ultramid®ÌýAdvanced N3U42G6 to its polyphthalamide (PPA) portfolio. This polyamide 9T, with a non-halogenated flame retardant, is designed to minimize electrocorrosion of metal contacts in electric and electronics (E&E) parts for e-mobility. According to BASF, the PPA increases the safety and durability of high-voltage connectors in applications such as inverters, DC-DC converters, and batteries of electric cars. Ultramid® Advanced N grade is available either uncolored with UL-certified masterbatches or pre-colored with high color stability for easy processing and color retention after heat aging, according to the company.

Intumescent Polyurethane Coating

Huntsman launched a new intumescent polyurethane coating system for automotive applications. POLYRESYST®ÌýEV5005 is designed to provide passive fire protection to metal and composite substrates used in electric vehicles (EVs). Silicone for Power Plant GeneratorsÌý

WACKER has introduced ELASTOSIL®ÌýN 9189, an electrically conductive silicone rubber for use in power plant generators. Developed for sealing and bonding applications, WACKER says the silicone rubber is designed to optimize the electrical field and potential distribution in the stator, thereby protecting against operational damage. Waterborne Floor Finish

Gemini Industries, Inc. has launched Glitsa®ÌýIdroClearâ„¢, a clear, single-component, waterborne floor finish for residential applications. The VOC-compliant single-component formulation is intended to simplify the application process by eliminating the need for a crosslinker to achieve a scratch- and scuff-resistant finish. Instead, Gemini says IdroClear depends on air oxidation to develop crosslinking. The floor finish can be used on properly prepared natural and stained wood floor surfaces as a self-sealing topcoat.
